UO x Pinterest: Space  Shift

Art Direction & Design
Brand Partnership • 2025

Urban Outfitters came to Pinterest with a back-to-school brief and a Gen Z audience. The result was Space Shift — a two-day immersive pop-up at Chelsea Factory in New York, built around the idea that Pinterest searches could translate directly into living spaces.

I was the lead art director and designer on the Pinterest side, working in partnership with the Urban Outfitters creative team. I art directed all ten rooms, each a fully realized space inspired by Pinterest search behavior, and designed the social assets that drove the contest component. Students were invited to create a Pinterest board of their dream dorm for a chance to win $5,000 — it became the most entered contest in Pinterest history.

The first evening was press-only, the second open to the public, and included a performance by Tinashe.

ProcessEach room started as a moodboard — designed to do two things simultaneously: establish the visual and spatial direction for the physical space, and map directly to shoppable Urban Outfitters product. The Potting Paradise room, brought to life with plant expert Paige Tailyn, shows how those two briefs lived together from the start.
