Tailored: A celebration of Black style

Co-Creative Direction & Design
Brand Campaign • 2025

Black fashion has always been about more than clothes. The Black dandy, a figure who used dress as resistance, self-expression, and cultural signaling, became the conceptual anchor for Pinterest’s 2025 Black History Month campaign. The brief was to honor that legacy in a way that felt specific, not ceremonial.

I co-creative directed the campaign with writer Abby Adesanya, owning the visual identity, art direction, and design across every touchpoint—from the campaign moodboard through to editorial placements on the Today tab, the Pinterest Shop, employee programming, and the hero video. The moodboard drew from archival imagery of Black style across decades, establishing a visual language that was referential without being nostalgic.

The campaign ran across Pinterest’s platform and internally across seven global offices, reaching employees and users simultaneously.

ProcessThe moodboard started with research, not aesthetics. We pulled from archival imagery of Black style across decades — the dandy tradition, mid-century portraiture, the details of craft and tailoring — to establish a visual language that had roots before it had a look.
