All Roads Lead to Cannes

Environmental Mural • Cannes Lions 2025

The Manifestival needed a public face—something large enough to stop people on the Croisette and specific enough to say something about Pinterest. The answer was a mural that stretched across the full double-decker facade of the structure.

The concept centered on five imagined Cannes attendees, each discovering their perfect festival look through Pinterest visual search. I art directed the piece, designed the map that gave the mural its spatial logic, and art directed each portrait and every object featured on the wall. I also hand-picked the images tied to each persona’s visual journey — the specific discoveries that made each story feel true to how Pinterest actually works. Our writer Maya Wong developed the personas themselves, and illustrator Izzy Lawrence brought the characters to life under our direction.

Part brand storytelling, part public art—the mural became one of the defining visuals of the 2025 Manifestival.

ProcessThe mural started with the people. Each persona was developed with a defined point of view before a single object or image was chosen. The map came next, sketched by hand to work out how five seperate journeys could read as one coherant wall.
